As we commemorate the noble sacrifice of Imam Hussain (as) for humanity, lives are at risk. What better way to demonstrate our solidarity with Imam Hussain (as) than sacrificing our blood to save human lives? Are our tears for Imam Hussain (as) sincere without supporting the sick and oppressed? Let not the blood of Imam Hussain (as) flow in vain.

This Muharram, the Islamic Unity Society (IUS) gives you the opportunity to make a difference. On Sunday 3 January and Monday 4 January blood donation centres across the UK will welcome the lovers of the Ahlul Bayt to help save lives.

Donating blood is a moral and Islamic duty. Unfortunately the number of registered Muslim donors are few, and this makes it difficult to source blood types common to ethnic minority groups. In fact, blood reserves in the UK have fallen so low that on 21 December 2009, there were only 6 more days of blood supplies for some blood types.

 

HOW TO DONATE BLOOD & SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN:


1) Are you eligible to donate blood? For age and medical restrictions, please check these guidelines.


2) You MUST register online in ADVANCE:

3) If you would like to spread the mission of Imam Hussain (as) to more mosques and Islamic centres across the UK, please consider making a financial contribution towards this Blood Donation campaign:
